A Better Tomorrow School
Since 2005 A Better Tomorrow has provided a free education, training and employment for the poorest, most vulnerable and marginalised groups.
Free Education
In 2006 the project opened its first school in Mirpur, Azaad Kashmir. We offer inovative and quality teaching to over 300 adults and children. We also offer scholarship programmes for the most promising individuals to further their studies at college and university.
Training
Through our Sewing and Skills Training Centre we aim to empower abandoned adults, single mothers and widows. The women will learn the process of manufacturing and will each be given their own sewing machine to work with at home. We hope to develop the skills the women learn at the centre and help them start their own businesses so they can provide for their families.
Employment
We have over 18 highly motivated and dedicated teachers who all come from challenging backgrounds. Noor Khan, a former student, is our longest serving member of staff. His own hard work and commitment have empowered him to become a leader within the school. We are committed to the continued profesional development of our staff so they can deliver quality teaching and learning. We offer them support through our Training and Co-ordination team who organise workshops and seminars as well as one to one support for individual teachers.
