Reshma hopes to support her family by training at ABT

Reshma finished top of her class and hoped of joining the Air Force. However, realising she was unable to afford college tuition fees and forced into marriage, Reshma had to abandon any hopes of an education or career. Now separated from her husband and with her father ill, she is supporting a family of 8 by training to become a teacher at ABT.  The programme has a strong emphasis on active and collabrative learning, digital literacy and gives trainees a good introduction into teaching in socially and ethnically mixed classrooms. Trainees receive a high level of support through tutoring and mentoring as well as placement training and a full salary.
